Godzilla is a decades long internationally recognized franchise loved internationally. The franchise began in Japan with Godzilla (1954) written and directed by Ishiro Honda. The film came at a turning point in Japanese history with the beginnings of an American motivated democracy along with the end of an era of strict media censorship.
